FRESH AND GREEN

By:  Pojie Pambid

The rains bring about a certain freshness in the air. It seems to give off a vibrant yet cool vibe and with the coming of the rains, OUR HOME elicits the same fresh and cool ambiance for the whole month of July; where colors and textures, prints and patterns, finishes and furnishings come together for a take on bringing the outdoors in – for something fresh and green.

Fresh and Green

The eye is instantly drawn to the main focal when the color green captures the attention of passers-by. The setting automatically gives off freshness as a three-seater and two-seater sofa combination sets the stage for a cool and calming effect – guaranteed to spruce up any living room. The sofas are donned in a rich palette of sage green with a subtle velvety tactile feel. Beige and sage throw pillows are added for contrast. To the side, a beige recliner is added to complement the relaxed feel of the atmosphere while at the same time gives a nods to the beige pillows on the couch. Underfoot, a plush beige rug is placed to give off a luxurious feel while providing comfort and noise reduction. The center table and the console table are both in a white marble top with gold legs; adding to the posh feel of the space. On top, accoutrements are curated in brass, bronze and white ceramic to exude a cohesive and consistent feel while centerpieces made of greens and white flowers allow for a simple and casual addition. Additional tables are added; rich in wood grains with fluted designs all around, the tables present a warm inclusion to the space, adding a new sense of textured comfort. On top, beige lamp shades on metallic bases complement the existing color palette. On both corners, tall and lush phicus trees contribute to the fresh outdoorsy feel of the space and on top, a modern chandelier with globe lights illuminate and highlight the contemporary feel and ambiance of the setting.

Fresh and GreenRoch grains of wood in warm walnut finishes predominate in the dining room vignette. Represented by a sculptural dining table, the oval surface and the concave legs give off a modern feel yet still conveying a comfortable and familiar feel to the space. Six velvet upholstered dining chairs with a woven backrest in emerald green add a touch of luxury. On top, crystal candelabras with white crisp candles adorn the all-green centerpiece. To the side, a walnut armoire doubles as a China cabinet and off to the periphery, another walnut buffet cum sideboard continues the consistent overall walnut tone of the wood finishes evoking a cohesive look. Underneath, a plush, geometric area rug in beige anchors the setting in place. Copper, brass and gold accessories complement the trio of gold and iron pendant lamps just above the dining table. The table is flanked by a couple of tall phicus trees to tie in with the living room indoor landscaping – adding to the fresh look of the space.

Fresh and GreenA lighter wood finish is adapted for the bed and bedframe – pine with walnut undertones – to create a distinct pairing while at the same time still connecting with the other wood finishes. The headboard though, is covered in padded beige leather for a soft and luxurious feel. A pair of bedside tables in walnut finish complement the bedframe and on top, beige lamp shades on copper bases provide illumination. The bed is covered in cotton sheets for a comfortable and familiar feel decked with large prints of tropical leaves and foliage keeping the green theme intact. An area rug in khaki at the foot of the bed adds warmth while two tall phicus trees behind the headboard, again, cohesively brings the landscape accents together.

For July, OUR HOME highlight the freshness of green as shades, tones and tints of the color are repeated in interior stylings that exude a cool, calm and comfortable ambiance. The result are vignettes and settings that elicit and evoke a refreshing, rejuvenation and revitalizing atmosphere – perfect while listening to the pitter-patter of the rain.
