Blush has not always been a popular color when it comes to interiors. Blush, as a color, is more personal, more individual and people might even say that it is preferential and would appeal only to a specific set of people. But here at OUR HOME, we like pushing the envelope when it comes to design creativity and… for the month of July, we highlight blush and its varieties, as our color of the month. Be inspired to check out what we’ve done to the color and how it is guaranteed to spark a renewed design interest.
First up, we pair blush with a pair of taupe leather sofas as the entrance focal. A three-seater, two-seater leather living room set in a warm shade of taupe is the highlight of this setting. The comfort and sophistication of leather is showcased by the sofas while on top, a variety of blush and taupe throw pillows punctuate the pieces and add extra texture and depth to the setting. Accentuating the vignette, we have a pair of blush lounge chairs done in the Art Deco style adding a touch of elegance to the setting. The chairs pick up the accents from the throws lending a very cohesive feel to the space. White glass center and console tables are added to create a functional mood while at the same time showcase a collection of accoutrements; ranging from a glass centerpiece filled with pink canna lilies, a trio of silver candelabras, blush and gold stoneware pottery and a collection of modern and contemporary sculptural art pieces. Lighting is provided via a set of table lamps in varying heights with amber glass bases and khaki colored shades; all creating a very warm and soothing ambiance. A pair of tall phicus trees add a vertical element lending a slightly formal feel while underfoot, sisal rugs serve as floor accents.
A white marble surface dining table for six graze the dining room vignette. Six upholstered dining chairs in blush tones surround the table and provide functional and comfortable seating pieces all contributing to a pleasant dining experience conversation replete with good food, a relaxing ambiance and stimulating conversations. The dining table is adorned with a square glass vase, this time filled with blush and yellow peonies, flanked by a pair of tall silver candelabras. Off to the side, a white wooden sideboard cum buffet cabinet adds functionality to the space by serving as the storage piece and on top, a table lamp, several glass collectibles and pink pottery ties everything together. Another tall phicus tree is added at the corner providing an element of height while at the side, a pair of faux concrete pedestals carries another flower arrangement in blush and a table lamp. An accent rug in gray sisal is seen on the floor for insulation and at the same time to absorb sound.
A fully upholstered bedframe and headboard in light beige takes center stage in the bedroom vignette. The bed, donned in sheets with a combination of sage green and blush coral foliage lends a dramatic play on prints and patterns, evoking a restful and fresh feel to the space. The bed is flanked by a pair of cantilevered, circular marble tables that serve as the bedside night tables and on top, amber and khaki table lamps as well as sage colored accessories liven up the room. To the side of the bed, an oversized lounge chair in velvet, plush coral upholstery serves as a reading chair while off to the other side of the bed, a long console table in white glass and chrome legs serves as a surface where sage and coral accessories are showcased and highlighted. The foot of the bed is also styled with the addition of a white, leather, tufted ottoman as an extra sitting option while behind the bed, another tall phicus tree is added for consistency.
